On 8th June there is a festival of Portuguese culture, food and music just up the road in Kennington Park, organised by the local Portuguese community. Come and enjoy some bacalhau in the sunshine!
Local residents in Larkhall ward probably know that Stockwell is home to the largest population of Portuguese people outside Portugal.
On Landor Road there are the headquarters of FC Porto's official London supporters' club, and on Stockwell Road there are numerous Portuguese cafes and restaurants.

Thank you for telling me the source of the annoying noise from distorting loudspeakers away in the distance that ebbs and flows into my garden in Stockwell. I wish my fellow Stockwellian neighbours well, whether or Portugese or other origin but I resent the intrusion of their noise into my garden on what might have been a quiet Sunday afternoon at home
Mark,
Glad this site was useful, but sorry to hear you aren't a fan of public events with music in Kennington Park. It was a great afternoon, but can see how the noise could have been annoying. Such events are licensed, so don't happen very often.
Pete
